Shri Biswajit Das, Dy. S. P. (D&T), Jhargram had joined in West Bengal Police in the year 1986 as SI of Police. He is a Science Graduate. At the earlier stage of his service he served at Howrah District in different assignments. During his service career as Inspector of Police, he held post of CI Dubrajpur (Dist- Birbhum), CI Jangipur (Dist- Murshidabad), CI Kanksa (Dist- Burdwan) and carried out his service successfully with good reputation. He is acceptable both his seniors as well as juniors by his sincerity, integrity, dedications towards his service. Before joining this assignment on 08.09.2015, he was posted as CI Kanksa, Dist- Burdwan. He also looks after the administrative work of Beliabera PS in addition to his official assignments as Dy. SP (D&T), Jhargram.


Achievements


During his prolong service in police, Shri Biswajit Das, Dy. S.P (D&T), Jhargram had done some good work which were appreciated by his department and public. However, two incidents are cited for instance. In the year 2006, during his incumbency as OC, Crime Pool, Howrah, Shri Das recovered a trafficked minor girl belongs to a needy Christen family of Chatterjeehat area of Howrah district from a notorious red right area of Nagpara, Mumbai within a very short time by devoting his sincerity. This noble work was appreciated in print media as well as electronic media and from the society also. In the year 2013, during his incumbency as CI Kanksa, Dist- Burdwan, one minor girl was raped by an accused namely Ashim Goldar of village Arrah, Kalinagar, PS- Kanksa, Dist- Burdwan. In this case Shri Das took an active role, supervised the case, guided the I.O. properly and monitor the trial closely. After trial the accused Ashim Goldar was convicted on 28-11-2014 with sentence to suffer RI for 10 years and also a fine of Rs. 20,000/- in default RI for another one year vide SC No. 246/13 by the Ld. District and Sessions Judge, Durgapur. Finally, the victim girl got the Justice.
