Shri Arindam Bhattacharjee, Inspector of Police, now posted as Inspector-In-Charge of Lalgarh Police Station since 06/07/2018. His educational qualification is B. Com. Previously he was posted as CI Mandir Bazar, Sundarban Police District. In the year 1998 he joined Police Department as Sub Inspector of Police (UB) and got promoted as Inspector of Police in the year 2017.
He is an officer having glorious service career, rewarded by this department for remarkable contribution to the department in several aspects. During his posting as SI of Canning PS in the year 2002 he investigated Canning PS case No-54/02 dt-21.04.02 U/S-498A/304D/302/201 IPC, where the accused husband, father in law and mother in law assaulted victim Mina Sarkar, killed her and hanged her from the ceiling, locked the main gate and fled away. The trial of the case was held in the court of Ld. Addl. Dist and Sessions Judge FTC 1st Alipur, and all the accused persons were sentenced to life conviction ie, “custody until death”. For such excellent performance he was rewarded “GS mark” by the then SP South 24 Parganas. Further on 21.02.2017 during his tenure as OC Kultali PS South 24 Parganas, working on source information at the dead hours of night, a gang of notorious river pirates were apprehended under his leadership from the river “matla” in the “Sundarbans” who commit crime in the international waters by robbing the fishermen and also kidnapped them for ransom. Huge number of arms and ammunitions were recovered from their possession, which refers to Kultali PS case no 122/17 dt 21/02/17 U/S- 399/402 IPC 25/27 Arms Act. Besides, several cases were investigated by him which are under trial at various courts and are likely to end in conviction. After joining Lalgarh PS he showed his ability in different fields of his activities. He has been commended by SP Jhargram District for utmost sincerity, dedication and professionalism in discharging his duties.
